IKEA’s 2021 catalogue launched August 6th and I’ve had my nose in it since I got a copy. As usual there are many new products, all great, but there are some that are juuuust right.. My favourite ones are all in the same category; the mirrors. My absolute top pick is the OPPHEM rattan wrapped oval mirror, the shape and the material are spot on. I just bought a similar round mirror before this one came out, otherwise it would be on my shopping list. Then the whole new LINDBYN collection of mirrors is whats been missing on the market in the world of mirrors in an affordable price. Thin metal framed mirrors have been all the rage for a while, and these 3 shapes that IKEA has come out with, hit the nail on the head: round, modern oval or ‘pill shaped’ and long rectangle with chamfered corners (drool). I’d love to see these come out in different metal colours later as well, the usual suspects, brass and a silver toned metal would be great but matte white would be killer! at least one of these in the current finish is on my shopping list.
Let’s talk about the SIMRISHAMN light. First, a light that can be table top or wall hung is money because not only does IKEA win by providing one skew thats meets multiple needs (they seem to be good at this) but if you buy it for one use and later change things around you can take this little light table top to wall and back whenever you choose. I personally like it best as a sconce, it mimics some much higher-end styles for a fraction of the price.
I’m also really loving the PUDERVIVA duvet set - its 100% linen! Hell’s yes, and the deep rich teal is killer.
The HARLANDA sofa collection is filling the need for a traditional arm sofa, that isn’t as wide of an arm as their other models and all the back pillows are dreamy. It also comes in a faded red, and as a sofa bed.. come-on!
OMTANKSAM is just a little yellow cutie of a chair.
The other pieces are super awesome as well. Check out the new catalogue to see what you find! I’m also always surprised by things that aren’t brand new anymore that I just somehow missed. The catalogue is just a great way to see the products in action and spark your imagination for your own space. Happy browsing - the new catalogue is available online too!
